Introduction

 

We are 2 established Ragdoll breeders with numerous years of experience behind us.

Many of you will know us as Ann from Dirleton Ragdolls and Mary from Drouindolls.

 

We have had the pleasure of working together on occasion and after long discussions over endless mugs of coffee we have decided to join forces in a project that is dear to both our hearts.

Dirleton Ragdolls and Drouindolls have not amalgamated, we are still very much independent catteries but we are coming together to promote, nurture and expand the very special PURE TRADITIONAL Ragdolls.

 

We are both enthusiastic and commited breeders of the newer chocolate and lilac Ragdolls.As many of you know these colours have been introduced in recent years through outcross breeding programmes to other breeds such as Birman and Balinese. Whilst these programmes have been astoundingly successful and the chocolate and lilac Ragdolls that are being produced now are quite outstanding it was with some alarm that we realized that many breeders, including ourselves,were going full steam ahead with chocolate breeding programmes incorporating the traditional  lines into the newer colours.This of course is necessary to bring the boning,coat,eye colour etc into the new colours.This is happening not only with the newer chocolate lines but also other colours that have been brought in as the result of outcross breeding programmes.In the  process we are in danger of losing the pure Ragdolls that go right back to Raggedy Ann.That would be very sad and quite inexcusable so we have set ourselves a goal to establish a strong reserve of Ragdolls that have completely pure traditional lines.

 

Traditional Chocolates.

Also,it was with huge excitement that we discovered recently the possibility of producing chocolate and lilac Ragdolls from completely pure traditional lines.For more information on this see our " Traditional Chocolate " page.

 

It is our aim to establish a group of cats that will have pure Ragdoll only lines.

We will then do selective matings with those cats to produce litters of kittens that will hopefully have the exceptional type,eye colour etc of their ancestors...................as well as being completely Ragdoll.

 

We already have some quality cats with pure lines to begin our programme.

Each and every cat had his/her lines thoroughly investigated to confirm that they are indeed 100% Ragdoll only.
